The Brothers Ralph are excited to announce that production has begun on their upcoming double album. The first half of the album is titled, “Ralph Strikes Back”, and the back half is titled, “Return of The Ralph”. Clearly, we are going for an epic, Lord of the Rings/Star Wars trilogy vibe, combined with our first album, “The Chronicles of Ralph”, and we could not be more excited.
TBR wrapped our first two days of recording with Corey DeRushia at Troubadour Recording Studio in Lansing, Michigan on May 2nd and 3rd. Of course, Spencer played his trusty Modulus Flea Bass, in addition to laying down a few tracks with his new double bass. He mostly played with bow, classical style, but also plucked out a few notes! Connor/Dizle played a good mix of electric and acoustic guitar, including a new e-bow on our tune, “My Lagan Love”. Our friend/producer, Corey, played drum kit and our fancy, new drum pad…let’s just say he’s a bit obsessed with it 🙂
Corey will be playing several shows with TBR in the future and will be tracking drums throughout our double album. He is a phenomenal percussionist and is happy to join our extended musical family. We are extremely excited about the potential of our newfound trio, but we also plan to bring in our friend, Zach McKinney/Fresh to slam on drum kit too. Hot and heavy rhythm section incoming…
During our first session, we recorded four tracks:
- I Do
- My Lagan Love
- Interlude (not sure on the name yet)
- I Gotcha Now
We are scheduled to return to Troubadour on May 22nd and 23rd to continue and have a few surprises up our sleeves. It is truly a dream come true to be able to play music, as brothers, and we cannot wait to see where our musical journey takes us.
